Inca Clothing
Emperor- The emperor wore a new outfit every single day, and the previous days clothing would be burned. Only the Inca emperor was allowed to wear a headdress which was usually designed in feathers and gold. They always had to have a large amount of gold bracelets and necklaces on, also. The Incan emperor’s earrings had to pull down his earlobes until they rested on his shoulder pads. Common Man- A sleeveless tunic, and a large cloak was always worn by the common man. Woman- A woman would usually wear a dress that was both a skirt and a blouse. The dresses were hand woven, so they were very bright and colorful. |

Since there were many different climate zones the Inca grew many different kinds of vegetables. Potatoes were one of the main foods. They had several hundreds of varieties of potatoes. Maze was also very popular. Oca, which is a root vegetable, was used as a sweetener until the arrival of sugar. Llamas and Alpacas were the Incas main source of meat and protein. Dried fish was the main meal for the Inca army. The Incas also created popcorn. Since, they had a surplus of maze some of it was used to make popcorn.
