The temple of Coricancha is one the most important Inca temples. This temple was built in honor of the sun god, Inti. The temple was located in the capital, Cusco. The walls were once covered in gold, and silver but the Spanish raided all the temples. With them the Spanish took many gold statues, masks, head-dresses, medals, bracelets, and scepters of gold.

Machu Picchu was built in 1450, but was abandoned later during the Spanish Conquest. The use and purpose of Machu Picchu is not certain, but most people believe that it was used as a getaway for the elite. The site is located 2,430 meters above sea level.
